Laochra Chiarraí 2024 award winners – Kerry All Ireland Ladies Senior Football team and their management
The Kerry Ladies Senior All Ireland Football team and their management have been selected by the Kerry Association in Dublin to receive the 2024 Laochra Chiarraí award which recognises exemplary leadership in community activity in the county. They were selected in recognition of the enormous contribution they have made to ladies’ football, culminating in All Ireland success this year. They have brought a huge sense of pride and joy to the county with the brand of football they have played and the manner in which they represent the county and wear the Kerry jersey with pride. They are inspirational role models for future generations of lady footballers.
Tralee’s Louise Quill, Founder of Tir na nÓg Children’s Foundation, has been selected as the Kerry Person of the Year for 2024 by the Association in recognition of the transformative work she has done supporting disadvantaged communities in Tanzania for the past 18 years.
Oíche Chiarraí and tickets
Both awards will be presented at the Association’s annual Oíche Chiarraí which will be held in the Louis Fitzgerald hotel, Dublin on Saturday 19th October 2024. Tickets for Oíche Chiarraí can be purchased either securely online or from the Association. Tickets can be purchased online from the Association’s website, www.kerryassociation.ie(at news and events section, purchase tickets) at €90 (€85 and €5 booking fee). Alternatively, they can be purchased from the Association’s Treasurer, Marion Walsh (email marionwalsh10@gmail.com, telephone 0872832018) or any of the Committee before Friday 27th September.
