Seán Óg Sheehy
Kerry GAA were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of the late Seán Óg Sheehy. Seán Óg was a true GAA great, hailing from a strong GAA family in Kerry. Not only did Seán Óg and his two brothers play on the 1962 All Ireland winning Kerry team together, but Seán Óg raised Sam Maguire as captain following in the footsteps of his father, the great John Joe, who had also captained Kerry. He represented his club John Mitchels with pride throughout his GAA career and afterwards.
We send our heartfelt condolences to his children Oghie, Ronan, Mark, and Clare and to all his family and friends.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís.
Tom O’ Connor
We also remember Tom O’ Connor who passed away recently. Tom was another stalwart of the GAA, hugely involved with his club Kenmare Shamrocks at all levels and also coached many teams in the local post-primary school. Tom was a selector with the late Páidí O’ Sé’s 1997 All-Ireland winning team and this was a very proud day for Tom.
Kerry GAA send our deepest condolences to Tom’s children Tina, Siobhán, Colm and Carol and all of his family and friends.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís.
