Carlow 3-22
Kerry 0-19
Martin Kavanagh scored an impressive 1-9, with four from frees, as Carlow dismantled Kerry on Sunday afternoon at a windy Austin Stack Park in Tralee.
The halftime difference told its own tale at 1-14 to 0-7 in favour of the visitors. Carlow managed goals through Fiachra Fitzpatrick, Chris Nolan and Kavanagh, but Kerry, missing key man Shane Conway, never came close. Carlow will surely be delighted with a resounding win to kick off their league campaign. Kerry worked hard throughout but could never muster enough of a charge to trouble the visiting Carlow side.
