Safeguarding Information and Training Events for Clubs and District Boards

Dates for the Diary:  27th & 28th February 2023

 

Two important Child Safeguarding Information and Training events are scheduled for Clubs and District Boards on

 

27th and 28th February at the MTU Campus Tralee at 7pm.

 

Both of these supportive and informative training events are being delivered and presented by  Gearóid Ó Maoilmhicíl, Croke Park National Safeguarding Officer and GAA Mandated Person.

 

Monday 27th February 2023 at 7pm MTU Tralee                                                                                                                             

Seminar Topic – “How to carry out an investigation under the GAA Code of Behaviour”.

Clubs and District Boards are required to put a 3 person Safeguarding Determining/Hearings committee in place and are encouraged to do so at the first executive meeting of the year

All clubs and District Boards are encouraged to have at least one member of Safeguarding Determining/Hearings Committee attend this training seminar / information event.

 

Tuesday 28th February 2023 at 7pm MTU Tralee                                                                                                                       

Workshop topic –“Safeguarding 3 Workshop for Designated Liaison Persons” i.e. Chairperson.

All DLP’ are required to attend a Safeguarding 3 Workshop training every three years (in addition to attending Safeguarding 1 Workshop every 3 years)-  legal obligations

 

**Kerry GAA policy is that the DLP is the Club/District Board Chairperson 

                             

Places are limited to 30 on this workshop and booking is essential.

 

Those booked on will receive a link to register with Croke Park in advance  of the date.

 

This workshop has not been delivered in Kerry in the last 3 years.
