What a brilliant weekend of Scór action here in Kerry last weekend. On Friday evening in Currow Hall we held a very successful Tráth na gCeist competition. The ceisteanna were complied by Kerry legend Mary Jo and what a lovely mix of questions on GAA, LGFA, Camogie, history, geography and local national current affairs. Ardfert Football club and Kilcummin Football club were tied for third spot following eight rounds of questions. Kilcummin took third spot following two rounds of tie breaker questions. St. Senans took silver and Na Pairnéalaigh ó Thrá Lí defended their title as they were crowned county champions.
Cill Cuimín Rince Seit winners and winners of the Club of the Year
All roads led the Cappamore in Limerick on Saturday afternoon as Kerry’s contestants went in search of Munster titles. Spa in the Rince Seit defended their title to clinch the three in a row and while Cnoc na hEaglaise didn’t claim the trophy in the Tráth na gCeist the finished second to Sráid A Mhuileann the 2023 All Ireland champions but will advance to the All Ireland Scór Sinsear in Castlebar on April 26th. Well done to all our county champions who performed vey well and can be very proud of their achievements and ability.
The Tinteán Theatre in Ballybunnion was the venue on Sunday for the Lee Strand Scór na bPáistí Competitions. The new format which was trialed at this beautiful venue last year proved very successful and this year for the first time ever all nine districts in the county were represented on the day. The action got underway at 11.30am with the Singing & Music Competitions followed at 3.00pm by the Aithriseoireachtst/Scéalaíocht, Leiriú and Lubiní and finally at 5.30pm by all the dancing competitions.
The large attendance were entrawled by the standard of competitors ih all competitions and enjoyed every performance. At the end of each section the Moltoirí delivered the results and Mna a Tí Saoirse Ní Churráin and Emily Ní Shé announced the winners there were jubilant scenes of celebration.
The haon, dó trí in all competitions were as follows and Cill Cuimín were crowned Club of the year comhghairdeachas leo.
