Kerry GAA will be hosting a second S&C Trainer Award course in partnership with UKSCA in late 2024 and are looking for expression of interest from clubs/schools. This is in response to the high demand from last year’s successful course, which saw 16 coaches complete the course.
The course is suitable for early-career S&C coaches and associated professions such as GAA coaches, physiotherapists and teachers. Graduates of this qualification will be able to join CIMSPA and UKSCA as S&C Trainers and this new professional standard will enable high-quality S&C training to be delivered to a wider audience within clubs & schools.
In order to apply for the course, we invite clubs to nominate a suitable candidate from their club membership for the course. The candidate must be in a position to complete all the modules of the course with a view to then establishing and implementing a club/district specific Player Development Pathway programme for youth players up to adult in conjunction with the Club Coaching Officer/Sub Committee. There is only 8 places available for the 2024 programme.
Application are to be made from the club/district secretary’s email address with the details of the club’s nominated person for the course.
All applications are to be emailed to Kerry GAA’s Head of Performance, Jason McGahan. Jason’s email address is jason.mcgahan.kerry@gaa.ie
The closing date for applications is 5pm Friday June 7th.
