COISTE SCÓR CHIARRAÍ
With all District Boards having their competitions completed; the stage is now set for the staging of the County Finals of Scór na nÓg; (Under 17s) which will be held in the Community Centre, Currow on this Saturday March 25th commencing at 6pm.
Certainly the response from the Clubs in this special year as we celebrate 50 years of Scór na nÓg has been very favourable indeed. The evening will be getting underway with the Figure Dancing, continuing on with Solo Singing, Recitation and Ballad Group; there will be a break for 15 minutes before the second half of competitions begins. Novelty Act, Instrumental Music and finishing with Set Dancing competition and this will conclude the days activities; so with a huge attendance expected everybody will be in for a great evenings entertaintment. Medals for both first and second with only the winner in each category going forward to represent their County where a Munster Final awaits to be held in the Éire Óg GAA Pavillion, County Cork on Saturday April 8th, with the All-Ireland Finals pencilled in for Saturday May 6th at the National Events centre, Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney.
QUIZ
It is very important to note that in recent years there has been a change in the running of the Quiz which now takes place on a different day from the on stage events and this date has now been confirmed for this Thursday March 23rd at Currow National School with a starting time of 7pm; The outright winner will then go forward to the Munster Finals and will be part of the days Munster Final programme on Saturday April 8th in Ovens.
