New Referees – Foundation Course

It is that time of year again where we are asking the clubs to nominate people who are interested in becoming a referee.

Your nomination should be at least mid-twenties, preferably not playing with your first team, with a grasp for the rules of game and a good level of the fitness.

We will be running our face-to-face Modules in Austin Stack Park, Tralee on the following nights:

• Friday 24^th March 19:30pm
• Friday 31^st March 19:30pm

Before you attend these nights, you have to have registered and completed the first Modules on line. (See below)

Following the same format as last year, this course will be completed as a blended learning course with three modules online on the GAA Learning Portal and two in person. To access the course all new referees must have an account on the GAA Learning Portal. For new referees who already have an account please click here to log in. There are 5 modules to this course and all modules must be completed before a referee is awarded their e-certificate at the end of the course which certifies the referee until 31^st December 2023.

The first two modules are online and must be completed before attending the next two in person modules which focus on aggressive and technical fouls.

The Rules Test is the final module and cannot be attempted until all other modules are completed and the pass mark recommendation from the National Referee Development Committee is 80% with the referee having 4 attempts to complete.
