A Round 5 win by Antrim over Meath last Saturday confirmed a Kerry versus Antrim Joe McDonagh Cup Final for 2020. This game, in a break with the tradition of playing the minor All-Ireland final before the senior decider, will be played as a curtain raiser to Limerick v Waterford at Croke Park on Sunday week, 13 December. The game will throw in at 1.00p.m.

The competition, for Tier 2 hurling counties, is in its third year and is named after the former Galway inter county hurler Joe McDonagh, winner of an All-Ireland senior hurling medal in 1980 and who later served as Uachtarán of Cumann Lúthchleas Gael from 1997 – 2000. He died aged 62 in 2016. Carlow were the inaugural winners in 2018, followed by Laois in 2019.
