Hurling

Kilmoyley completed the North Kerry and County Championship double last Sunday when they won the 2020 Rhyno Quality Feeds North Kerry Senior Hurling Championship. In the Final, played at Abbeydorney, they defeated Causeway by 0 – 13 to 0 – 10. After the game, the John Joe O’Sullivan Memorial Cup was presented to the Kilmoyley captain and goalkeeper, John Brendan O’Halloran by Joe Walsh, Rúnaí, Bord Iomána Ciarraí Thuaidh. The Man of the Match Award went to Kilmoyley’s Daniel Collins who scored 10 points of his sides total, all from frees. Match referee was Mike Hennessy.

Junior

In the Co. Junior Hurling Championship Round 3 game played at Duagh last Sunday, Ballyheigue had a 0 – 14 to 0 – 6 win over Duagh.

Juvenile

Well done to the Under 14 hurlers of St. Brendan’s, Crotta O’Neill’s and Abbeydorney on winning Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg League titles. In the Division 1 decider, St. Brendan’s had a 4 – 14 to 1 – 12 win over Ballyduff. In the Division 2 Final Crotta defeated Kilmoyley by 3 – 12 to 1 – 11. The Division 3 final was played under lights at Abbeydorney and after a most exciting game the home side edged out Firies by 2 – 13 to 1 – 13. Well done to all the players, mentors and supporters who facilitated the running of these competitions over the past few months and in particular to the competition co-ordinator Liam Goggin (Causeway).

Under 12

Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 12 Hurling league Phase 2, Round 4 result: Group C – Abbeydorney 5 – 3 Lixnaw 4 – 2.

Inter county

The Kerry senior hurlers are at present preparing for their return to action. They will meet Antrim in the re-fixed Allianz Hurling League, Division 2A Final on Sunday week, October 18 at Bord na Móna O’Connor Park, Tullamore at 1.30pm.

The Joe McDonagh Cup competition will commence on Sunday, October 25, they will play Meath at Austin Stack Park at 1.00pm in Round 1. On Saturday, 31 October they travel to meet Westmeath in Round 2 at 1.30pm in Cusack Park. Round 3 will be away to Antrim on Saturday, November 14 at Corrigan Park while Round 4 will be at home to Carlow at Austin Stack Park on Saturday, 21 November. The Joe McDonagh Cup Final is scheduled for Sunday, 13 December as a curtain raiser to the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final.
