Hurling

Congratulations to Kilmoyley on winning the 2020 Garvey’s SuperValu Kerry Co. Senior Hurling Championship title. In last Sunday’s final, played at Austin Stack Park, they defeated reigning champions, Causeway, by 2 – 12 to 1 – 14 in an excellent final. This was Kilmoyley’s 25th title and it puts them joint top of the roll of honour with Ballyduff. Team captain, John Brendan O’Halloran received Corn Neilus Ó Floinn from Tim Murphy, Cathaoirleach Choiste Contae Chiarraí, C.L.G.

Intermediate

Congratulations to Dr. Crokes on winning the Co. Intermediate Hurling Championship. In the curtain raiser to the senior final they had a 2 – 15 to 0 – 14 win over Tralee Parnell’s. Team captain, centre back Mike Milner, accepted Corn Antaine Ó Murchú. This was Dr. Crokes 3rd title at this level having previously won it in 1999 & 2001.

Junior

Round 2 of the Co. Junior Hurling Championship is scheduled for this Sunday, 27 September when Duagh play St. Pat’s East Kerry. Venue is Duagh where there will be a 2.30p.m. throw in. This competition is being played on a league system with the top 2 teams to contest the Final.

North Kerry

The Final of the 2020 Rhyno Quality Feeds North Kerry Senior Hurling Championship [John Joe O’Sullivan Memorial Cup] is fixed for Sunday, 2 October. It will be a repeat of last Sunday’s county final as Causeway has qualified to meet Kilmoyley in the decider. Venue to be confirmed.

Under 12

Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 12 Hurling league Phase 2, Round 4 result: Group C – Lixnaw 3 – 3 Rathmore 2 – 6. Lixnaw play Abbeydorney in a back game this Wednesday at 6.15pm.

Under 14

In the Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 14 Hurling League Division 1 semi-final, St. Brendan’s had a 4 – 7 to 1 – 4 win over Kenmare/Kilgarvan at Ardfert on Sunday morning. St. Brendan’s will meet Ballyduff in the Final this weekend. Details will be posted on both the North Kerry Hurling and Coiste na nÓg Facebook pages as soon as available.

Under 16

Both of the Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 16 Championship finals went ahead last weekend with Lixnaw & St. Brendan’s successful. On Saturday at Abbeydorney, St. Brendan’s had a 4 – 12 to 1 – 12 win over Tralee Parnell’s. Joint team captains were Keith O’Mahony & Fionán Egan.

On Sunday morning at Ballyheigue, Lixnaw had a superb extra time win over the combined Crotta/Kilmoyley side. Final score 1 – 23 to 1 – 20. The winning Lixnaw panel was: Kieran Stack, Aidan Mahony, Bryan Allen (captain), Christopher O’Sullivan, Evan Kelliher, Aaron
