Hurling
The big result of last weekend was the win by Tralee Parnell’s over reigning champions Kilgarvan in the semi-final of the Co. Intermediate Hurling Championship. They won by just one point, 1 – 25 to 2 – 21 after extra time, following an excellent contest between two evenly matched and very sporting sides. This win is significant in that it is only the second year ever that this new club has been playing in adult competitions and is a tribute to all who work so hard at all levels at the Caherslee based outfit. They will meet Dr. Crokes in the Final after they had a 4 – 13 to 2 – 11 win over Kilmoyley. The Final is scheduled for the weekend of 19/20 September.
Senior
Current holders, Causeway, will play Kilmoyley in the Final of the 2020 Garvey’s SuperValu Kerry Co. Senior Hurling Championship. In last Sunday’s semi-finals, played without spectators as is the norm now, Kilmoyley had a 1-20 to 1-12 win over Abbeydorney while Causeway overcame Ballyduff by 1-19 to 0-11. This Final is fixed for Sunday, 20 September @ 3.00p.m. in Austin Stack Park [extra time & winner on the day]
Junior
The Co. Junior Hurling Championship will get underway on this Saturday, 12 September when Ballyheigue are at home to St. Pat’s East Kerry at 4.00p.m. Duagh will also be taking part in this competition which will be played on a league system with the top 2 teams to contest the Final.
Minor
Keane’s SuperValu Co. Minor Hurling Championship. Final – Saturday, 12th September at 3:00.p.m. (Extra time & winner on the day)

Under 16
The Final of the Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 16 Championship between Lixnaw and Crotta/Kilmoyley is fixed for this Saturday, 12 September @ 2.30p.m. Venue to be confirmed. Last week’s semi-final results – Crotta/Kilmoyley 1 – 18 Ballyduff 0 – 12 and Lixnaw 3 – 16 Ballyheigue 2 – 16.
In the Plate competition Tralee Parnell’s defeated South Kerry by 3 – 9 to 1 – 7. The St. Brendan’s v Rathmore game was not finished due to field conditions and was due to be played on Tuesday evening with the Final also down for this weekend. Exact fixture details will be on the North Kerry Hurling and Coiste na nÓg Facebook pages.
Under 14
Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 14 hurling league Phase 2 Round 3 results: Group A -Kenmare/Kilgarvan 4 – 13 Ballyduff 3 – 13; Tralee Parnell’s 3 – 8 St. Brendan’s 4 – 16. Group 2B – Ballyheigue 3 – 11 Lixnaw 3 – 8. The Group 3 game, South Kerry v Abbeydorney, will go ahead at Abbeydorney on this Saturday, 12 September at 5.00p.m.
All underage hurling competitions for 2020 are under the remit of Kerry Coiste na nÓg. Clubs must continue to maintain the national G.A.A. safety protocols and adhere to match regulations to ensure the safety of players and mentors at all times.
