Hurling

The Semi-Finals of the 2020 Garvey’s SuperValu Kerry Co. Senior Hurling Championship [Corn Neilus Ó Floinn] will take place in a very strange environment on this Sunday, 6 September. As per Government regulations, no supporters will be allowed to attend. However both games will be live streamed on the Kerry G.A.A. website. The Abbeydorney v Kilmoyley game will throw in at 2.00p.m. followed by Causeway v Ballyduff at 4.00p.m. Both games will be played at Austin Stack Park, Tralee with extra time if necessary & a winner on the day. The Final is scheduled for the weekend of 19/20 September.

Kilmoyley B v Dr Crokes Caherslee

Sunday 6 Sept at 2pm – Extra Time & Result on the day

Minor

After last weekend’s games the finalists are known for the Final of the Keane’s SuperValu Kerry Co. Minor Hurling Championship [Corn Seán Loibhéad]. In the first semi-final on Friday at Abbeydorney, Ballyheigue had a 5 – 18 to 0 – 14 win over St. Brendan’s. The second semi-final was a much closer affair with Ballyduff putting in a strong last quarter to overcome Abbeydorney by 1 – 17 to 1 – 14. The Final is scheduled for the weekend of 12/13 September.

Senior

Kilmoyley defeated Crotta by 3 – 13 to 0 – 12 in Round 3 of the Rhyno Quality Feeds North Kerry Senior Hurling Championship. Kilmoyley have now qualified for the Final against Causeway, date to be confirmed.

Under 12

Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 12 Hurling league Phase 2, Round 2 results: Group A – Tralee Parnell’s 3 – 0 Crotta 6 – 14; Ballyduff 5 – 6 Kenmare 1 – 1; Group B – Ballyheigue 5 – 9 Kilgarvan 0 – 1; St Brendan’s 4 – 6 Kilmoyley 1 – 4. Group C [Round 4] – Lixnaw 4 – 2 Firies 0 – 5; Abbeydorney 0 – 10 Rathmore 0 – 1. Group D – Crotta O’Neill’s B 7 – 3 Tralee Parnell’s B 1 – 1. Ballyheigue B 7 – 8 Crotta O’Neill’s B 4 – 4.

Phase 2 Round 3 fixtures for this Friday, 4 September @ 6.45p.m. Group A – Tralee Parnell’s v Ballyduff; Kenmare v Crotta O’Neill’s. Group B – Kilgarvan v Kilmoyley; St. Brendan’s v Ballyheigue. Group C – Abbeydorney v Firies; South Kerry v Rathmore; Lixnaw v bye. Group D – Crotta O’Neill’s B v Causeway; Tralee Parnell’s B v Ballyheigue B.

Under 14

There were some very one sided results in the Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 14 hurling league Phase 2 Round 2: Group A – Tralee Parnell’s defeated Kenmare/Kilgarvan and St. Brendan’s defeated Ballyduff. Group 2A – Kilmoyley 3 – 8 Rathmore 3 – 3; Crotta defeated Kilmoyley. Group 2B – Ballyheigue 1 – 8 Causeway 0 – 6; Lixnaw 7 – 18 Causeway 3 – 9; Group 3 -Firies 10 – 10 Abbeydorney 4 – 6; Firies 5 – 10 South Kerry 2 – 2.

Round 3, Saturday, 5 September @ 5.00p.m. Group A – Kenmare/Kilgarvan v Ballyduff; Tralee Parnell’s v St. Brendan’s. Group 2B – Lixnaw v Ballyheigue; Causeway v bye.

Under 16

Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 16 Championship results: Ballyduff 5 – 14 South Kerry 0 – 5; Tralee Parnell’s 1 – 10 Abbeydorney 1 – 4; St. Brendan’s 4 – 6 Kenmare 0 – 6. 

The next rounds of the Cup and Plate competitions will go ahead on this Thursday, 3 September at 6.30p.m. Cup semi-finals – Crotta/Kilmoyley v Ballyduff @ Ballyheigue and Lixnaw v Ballyheigue @ Dromakee. Plate semi-finals – St. Brendan’s v Rathmore and South Kerry v Tralee Parnell’s (venues to be confirmed). Exact fixture details will be on the North Kerry Hurling and Coiste na nÓg Facebook pages.

All underage hurling competitions for 2020 are under the remit of Kerry Coiste na nÓg. Clubs must continue to maintain the national G.A.A. safety protocols and adhere to match regulations to ensure the safety of players and mentors at all times.
