Eight advance to the Garvey’s Senior Football Champinship Quarter Finals
Last weekend we were treated to a feast of football. Unfortunately, as Supporters we were unable to be there but Kerry GAA was determined to assist supporters keep updated with all the games. All media platforms played a role from Television to Radio, from Print Media to live streaming. Our thanks to all involved in bringing this ambitious plan to fruition.
The draw for the Quarter Final of the Garvey’s SuperValu Football Championship was made after the final game on Sunday. It was made by Seamus O’Connor of Garvey’s Castleisland and Tim Murphy Chairman of Kerry County Board. The Draw was overseen by Eamon Whelan from CCC and was made live on the Kerry GAA Live-stream. CCC met immediately after the Draw and issued the following fixtures –

All 4 games can be live-streamed from the Kerry GAA website. You can buy both of Saturday’s games together for €10 or both of Sunday’s games together for €10. We have simplified the payment process on the website and a buyer simply enters their card details to purchase the games. This weekend’s games will feature action replays, interviews with the managers and multi-camera angles. The games can be purchased worldwide and watched for 30 days after.
Update from Croke Park
At a virtual meeting of GAA county chairpersons held last Thursday online by the Uachtarán and Ard Stiúrthóir, counties were asked to double down on efforts to help the Association to play its part in the on-going fight against the Covid pandemic and in light of recent challenges nationally. Clubs were asked to adhere to the guidelines issued last week until such a time as further advice is made available from government. The Ard Stiúrthóir also informed county chairpersons of intentions to make centrally sourced borrowings available to county committees at the earliest opportunity to assist in the running of their activities before Government funding is made available. The GAA can also confirm that pending updated public health advice, and in light of an increased optimism and appetite for inter-county games, plans to stage championships in the coming months remain strongly under consideration.
Statement from Tim Murphy, County Chairman
The attendance news last week has certainly been very disappointing for all GAA fans. Right from the beginning of the Covid Pandemic, our Kerry clubs, officers, players, parents and mentors have shown tremendous leadership, community spirit and dedication. This has enabled our fixture programme across all ages to be played and training sessions held in a monitored and controlled environment. We would ask absolutely everyone involved to continue to do everything in their power to abide by all health guidelines and recommendations over the coming weeks. Where Juvenile games are concerned, it is vitally important to abide by the One Parent or Guardian only per child attendance rule ( and only if it is necessary from a welfare viewpoint). Once inside a ground , social distancing is paramount. Continuing adherence to guidelines means that the GAA family is doing its best to ensure matches and training continue and hopefully in front of attendances in due course.
Cul Camps
A huge thank you to Donal Daly, the GDAs and all the coaches on the running of many successful Cul Camps all over the County. The Camps were fully compliant with Covid regulations and the children had great fun. Those interested in the Cul Camp gear still have an opportunity to purchase the gear online.

Senior
Kilmoyley play Crotta in Round 3 of the Rhyno Quality Feeds North Kerry Senior Hurling Championship on this Wednesday, 26 August. Venue is @ 7.15pm.The games involving Causeway, Ballyduff, St. Brendan’s and Lixnaw are not going ahead. Causeway are already in the Final. If Crotta defeat Kilmoyley they will be in the Final while Kilmoyley need only a draw to reach the decider.
Under 12
Lee Strand Coiste na nÓg Under 12 Hurling league Phase 2 Round 1 results: Group A – Tralee Parnell’s 9 – 2 Kenmare 5 – 3; Crotta O’Neill’s 7 – 4 Ballyduff 4 – 9. Group B – Ballyheigue defeated Kilmoyley. Group D – Causeway 7 – 9 Tralee Parnell’s B 2 – 3.
