Dromid advance to Junior Premier Final   10/09/2017


Castleisland Mart Junior Premier Championship Semi Final

Dromid: 1-12  Skellig Rangers: 0-6


Dromid Pearses advanced to the Junior Premier Championship final following a nine point victory over Skellig Rangers at Con Keating Park in Cahersiveen on Saturday evening. Wind assisted and with Man of the Match Graham O'Sullivan to the fore, Dromid were the better side in a very physical opening half after which they led by 6 points to 1 with Niall O’Shea and Grahan O’Sullivan grabbing a brace apiece and Brendan O’Sullivan getting the Portmagee side’s only score of the half.


Dromid continued to dominate on the restart with early points from Gearoid Jackie O’Sullivan and Chris Farley to one in reply from Martin O’Sullivan  who had also rattled the crossbar in th e36th minute. Farley added another minor before Thomas Curran struck for a Dromid goal in the 46th minute to leave his side leading by 1-9 to 0-2.


Diarmuid Keating did pull a few points back for Skellig from frees but further points from Graham O’Sullivan and Chris Farley made sure of Dromid Pearses place in the final against Firies or Na Gaeil who play on the 30th September.
